Yucatan: land where the past becomes the present every day, ancient land of eternal stories and wonders, of kind people and traditions that contrast with its modernity, its amplitude to the world, its technology centers, its industry and its deep-sea port. With a fascinating gastronomy, mixture of millenarian Mayan recipes and Creole influences, it opens an almost infinite range of possibilities for the palate.

Yucatan, Mexico

Yucatan:

Place where it is easy to lose oneself among the songs of birds and the music of snails that embellish the lyrics of its trova melodies.

Yucatan is diverse, it carries its history in its streets, its houses, its museums, its reunion centers. It is full of archaeological sites, like the great pyramid of Kukulkán, the monumental Uxmal and the mystic Ek Balam, all of them wonderful, as well as its colonial cities, tropical forests and mysterious cenotes.

Yucatan is a land of fusions and contrasts that range from its calm coasts to its vibrant night life. Its Haciendas are proud witnesses of its past; its people, a Mayan culture that lives on, and its visitors, tireless travelers to whom the land itself gives shelter with its benign warmth and its refreshing morning dew.

Due to their status as a multi-cultural state and vibrant cosmopolitan city, Yucatan and Merida have become some of the trendiest places in Mexico. Luxury, exclusiveness and comfort , show themselves in these luxurious properties of finest style and care.

Originally from the time of the “green gold” (around the end of 1800), haciendas were born and made a living from the henequén bonanza. By mid 1940, when synthetic fibers were created, the henequén industry plummeted and with it, the splendor of haciendas. In the last decade of the XX century, the haciendas of Yucatan recovered economic growth and splendor, this time as spots of perfect harmony for relaxation, reflection, and meditation; but mostly to offer unique experiences to the visitors of Yucatan.

In other times, machinery houses, today restaurants serving contemporary Yucatan cuisine; before, stables and farmyards, now, pools and spas; stately ranches of old, today real estate of peculiar charm from Yucatan to the world.

Yucatan has a great tradition where it comes to relaxation and well being. Ancestral Mayan medicine was one of the most developed sciences among our ancestors. Many of their remedies and millennial techniques, combined with the most avant-garde facilities in an environment of stoic tranquility can be enjoyed in these relaxation sites.

Starting from traditional Mayan techniques, going through zen massages and spicing up the experience with spectacular natural surroundings, Yucatan offers the very best to pamper tourists.

Spas can be found mostly at haciendas and boutique hotels. For more information, talk to the Yucatan travel experts.
